What we build

Typical game development deliverables.

01

Mobile games

2D and 3D casual and puzzle games for iOS and Android, built so the core loop is fun first and monetisation is layered on without spoiling it.

02

Multiplayer and backend services

Real-time or turn-based multiplayer with matchmaking, leaderboards, player accounts and server-side validation that makes cheating harder.

03

Browser and WebGL games

Games that run instantly in a browser with no install, a good fit for brand campaigns, product launches and learning platforms.

04

AR and VR experiences

Augmented-reality product previews on phones, and VR walkthroughs or training simulations for headsets, such as touring a property before it is built.

05

Gamified learning and training

Game mechanics like levels, streaks and rewards added to education and staff-training apps, where the goal is completion and retention rather than play time.

How an engagement runs

From the first conversation to support after launch.

Step 01

Concept and game design document

We pin down the core loop, audience, target platforms, art direction and how the game will make money, in a short design document everyone signs off.

Step 02

Playable prototype

A greybox build with placeholder art that tests whether the core mechanic is actually fun, before anyone pays for polished assets.

Step 03

Production in milestones

Art, levels, interface, audio and backend are built in milestones, each ending with a build you can install and play.

Step 04

Testing and soft launch

Testing on a spread of low- and high-end devices, performance tuning, then a soft launch to a limited audience to check retention before a wider release.

Step 05

Launch and live operations

Store submission, then updates, events and balance changes driven by player analytics.

Why Blackmorph

Game development is a newer line for us, and we have no published game case study yet, so we would rather be upfront about it. What we bring is the engineering around the game, such as player accounts, payments, backends and analytics, which the team has been building for web and mobile clients since 2020. A small prototype is the most honest way to judge whether we are the right studio for your game.

Game development FAQs

Questions we are asked most often before a project starts. Anything else, ask us directly.

What determines the cost of developing a game?

2D versus 3D, the volume of art and animation, the number of levels, multiplayer, target platforms, monetisation features and whether you want live operations after launch. A prototype phase keeps the first spend small and tells you whether the idea deserves more.

Should our game use Unity or Unreal Engine?

Unity is a strong default for mobile, browser (WebGL) and AR projects thanks to its build sizes, platform reach and tooling. Unreal Engine shines for high-fidelity PC and console titles. We recommend based on your platforms and visual goals, not habit.

Can you build a multiplayer game?

Yes. We decide early between real-time and turn-based play, because that choice shapes the networking, the servers and the running cost. Server-side validation, matchmaking and leaderboards are planned from the prototype stage rather than bolted on at the end.

Do you handle publishing and marketing?

We handle App Store and Play Store submission and the technical side of launch. Player acquisition is a separate discipline; our digital marketing service can help with store listings, analytics and campaigns if you need it.

We only have an idea. How do we start?

Describe the game, the audience and a reference title or two you like. We turn that into a one-page concept and a quote for a playable prototype, which is the lowest-risk way to find out if the idea works.
